On Monday 17 February 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the “European Capital of Culture Agia Napa 2030” and the “Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI)”.The agreement was ratified by the Presidents of the two institutions, Mr. Yannis Karousos and Mr. Charalambos Manolis respectively.
This cooperation strengthens Ayia Napa’s candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030, highlighting the multiple economic and social benefits that will accrue to the wider region of free Famagusta.
Through the Memorandum, the two organisations are committed to working together to promote the bid, enhance cultural development and create a strong economic ecosystem, supporting tourism, business and industry in the region.


Mr. Yannis Karousos said “Today’s agreement is a decisive step towards achieving our common goal. Our cooperation with the EBEA strengthens our claim and makes the most of the cultural and economic potential of our region.”
Similarly, Mr. Charalambos Manolis pointed out: “The candidacy of Ayia Napa for the title of European Capital of Culture is a unique opportunity for the development and promotion of the region. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry strongly supports this effort and looks forward to an efficient cooperation.
The signing of the Memorandum marks the beginning of a strategic partnership that will shape an innovative and sustainable cultural and economic vision for Ayia Napa and the free Famagusta region.
